Privacy.

Short version: we collect your email, the name you pick and what you post. We use it to run FAFO321 and send you countdown emails. We don't sell it, we don't run ads and we don't use tracking cookies. You can delete everything yourself, any time.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you join the list or sign in. Signing in works with a 6-digit code sent to it; there are no passwords.
- The name you choose. It doesn't have to be your real one.
- What you post: countdowns (the risk, what happens if it works or doesn't, the date), check-ins, logs, which crews you're on, your streaks, and any reports you file.
- Emails you invite. If you invite people when you start a countdown, we keep their address with that countdown and send them one email with a link to join. They aren't added to our email list, and the record is deleted with the countdown.
- Basic technical data our hosting providers log automatically, like IP address, browser type and the time of a request. We use it to keep the site running and stop abuse.
- Email activity. Our email provider records whether emails were delivered, opened or clicked, and whether you unsubscribed.
We don't collect payment details, your location, your contacts or anything from social media. Please don't put health details or other sensitive information in public posts.
How we use it
- To sign you in and run your countdowns, crews and the feed.
- To send emails about your account and countdowns: the welcome, reminders, crew updates, streaks and the weekly recap. Every one of these has an unsubscribe link, except sign-in codes.
- To keep FAFO321 safe. New posts are screened automatically for illegal or dangerous goals, and we review flagged or reported posts. If a post suggests someone might hurt themselves, we show crisis resources.
- To count simple totals, like signups and countdowns started, so we know if this is working.
Where the law asks for a legal basis (for example GDPR), we rely on running the service you signed up for, our legitimate interest in keeping it safe and working, and your consent for emails, which you can withdraw by unsubscribing.
What's public
Countdowns, check-ins, logs and the name you choose are public. Anyone with the link can see them, they can show up on the feed and in search engines, and people can share them. Your email is never shown to anyone. If you delete something, it comes off FAFO321 right away, but we can't pull back copies other people already shared or saved.
Who else handles it
We use a few services to run FAFO321. They handle data for us under their own privacy and security terms:
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Convex hosts the database: your account, name, countdowns and posts.
- Loops sends email and stores your email address and email preferences.
These services are based in the United States, so your data may be stored and processed there. We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We'd only hand it to anyone else if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Cookies and browser storage
No ad or tracking cookies, and no analytics that follow you around. When you sign in, your browser stores a sign-in token so you stay signed in. It's cleared when you sign out.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and posts until you delete them. Deleting a countdown removes it and everything on it. Deleting your account removes your countdowns, check-ins, crew spots, reports, name, sign-in records and your contact in our email provider. Hosting providers keep short-lived logs and backups that expire on their own schedule. If you only joined the email list, email us and we'll remove you.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from any email with the link at the bottom.
- Change your name or delete a countdown any time.
- Delete your account yourself on your page, under “Your data”.
- Get a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, by emailing hello@fafo321.live. We'll answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have more rights, like objecting to how we use your data or complaining to your local data protection authority. We'll honor them, and we won't treat you differently for using them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes, and only the people who run FAFO321 can reach the admin tools. No system is perfectly secure, though. If something goes wrong that affects your data, we'll tell you.
Age
FAFO321 is for people 16 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a younger person signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If it's a big change, like a new kind of data or a new use for it, we'll email you first.
